PUTRAJAYA, 15 Mac (Bernama) -- Dua rakyat Malaysia dilaporkan cedera dalam insiden tembakan di Masjid Al-Noor, dekat Hagley Park dan Masjid Linwood di Christchurch, New Zealand, hari ini.

Wisma Putra, dalam kenyataan, memberitahu kedua-dua mereka itu kini menerima rawatan di hospital.

Bagaimanapun, katanya, setakat ini tiada rakyat Malaysia dilaporkan terbunuh dalam insiden yang mengorbankan 40 orang dan 20 orang mengalami kecederaan.

Wisma Putra memaklumkan Malaysia secara keras mengutuk tindakan keganasan tersebut terhadap orang awam yang tidak bersalah dan berharap mereka yang bertanggungjawab diheret ke muka pengadilan.

“Ingatan dan doa kami adalah kepada mangsa dan keluarga yang terbabit dalam kejadian tembakan itu,” menurut kenyataan itu.

Menurut laporan media, polis New Zealand menahan empat orang susulan kes tembakan rambang itu di dua masjid tersebut yang berlaku pada jam 1.40 tengah hari waktu tempatan (8.40 pagi waktu Malaysia).

Wisma Putra berkata Suruhanjaya Tinggi Malaysia di Wellington berhubung dengan rakyat Malaysia di Christchurch dan sedang memantau situasi berkenaan secara teliti.

“Talian hotline telah disediakan oleh pihak Suruhanjaya Tinggi untuk menjawab sebarang pertanyaan berhubung keadaan semasa di situ,”menurut kenyataan itu.
