  27 kes keracunan makanan dilaporkan di Perak sehingga Sept 2018

SERI ISKANDAR, 11 Okt (Bernama) -- Sebanyak 27 kejadian keracunan makanan di Perak telah dilaporkan sejak Januari hingga September tahun ini, kata Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Kesihatan, Hal Ehwal Pengguna, Integrasi Nasional dan Sumber Manusia Perak, A. Sivanesan.

Menurut beliau daripada jumlah itu, keracunan makanan di kantin sekolah merekodkan paling banyak  kes iaitu 10 kejadian.

Katanya ini diikuti tujuh kejadian melibatkan kedai makan, kedai runcit dan gerai, lima kejadian melibatkan rumah persendirian, dua kejadian masing-masing melibatkan penyediaan katering dan orang awam serta satu kejadian melibatkan Institusi Pengajian Tinggi (IPT).

“Penyiasatan kejadian keracunan makanan menunjukkan bahawa pencemaran utama berlaku disebabkan oleh pengendalian makanan yang tidak mengikut kaedah yang betul dan suhu penyimpanan bahan mentah tidak menepati standard,” katanya.

Beliau berkata demikian pada sidang media selepas merasmikan Majlis Anugerah Keselamatan Makanan Peringkat Negeri Perak yang turut dihadiri Pengarah Kesihatan Negeri Dr Ding Lay Ming di sini hari ini.

Sebanyak 300 peserta membabitkan pengusaha dan pengendali makanan dalam kalangan kantin sekolah, premis makanan dan pengilang makanan serta katering terlibat menerima sijil pengiktirafan pengendalian makanan anjuran Bahagian Keselamatan dan Kualiti Makanan (BKKM) Jabatan Kesihatan Negeri (JKN) Perak.

Mengenai premis yang telah diperiksa, Sivanesan menjelaskan dari Januari hingga Ogos tahun ini, sebanyak 8,512 premis telah diperiksa dengan 119 premis telah diarahkan tutup serta 655 premis telah dikompaun dengan jumlah nilai kompaun RM142,950.

Katanya Kementerian Kesihatan sentiasa peka mengenai isu-isu berkaitan dengan keselamatan makanan dan tidak akan berkompromi dengan sebarang kesalahan yang boleh menjejaskan kesihatan orang ramai.

“Ketidakpatuhan pengusaha makanan mewujudkan satu sistem jaminan keselamatan makanan boleh dikenakan tindakan perundangan dengan denda RM10,000 atau penjara tidak lebih dua tahun atau kedua-duanya jika sabit kesalahan,” katanya.

Dalam pada itu Sivanesan berkata sejak Skim Pensijilan Makanan Selamat Tanggungjawab Industri (MeSTI) bermula pada Jun 2012 hingga Sept tahun ini, sebanyak 323 usahawan Perusahaan Kecil dan Sederhana (PKS) makanan di negeri ini telah memperolehi pensijilan MeSTI.

Selain itu beliau turut menjelaskan sebanyak 235 premis makanan di negeri ini telah memperolehi pengiktirafan pensijilan Bersih, Selamat dan Sihat (BeSS).

“Walaupun kita memberi pengiktirafan, BKKM JKN sentiasa menjalankan pemantauan ke atas premis-premis makanan di seluruh negeri,” katanya.
