Thursday, 14 June 2018

KUALA LUMPUR, June 14 (Bernama) -- Taiwan Ministry of Education (MOE) has launched an online learning initiative 'Huayu 101' - a brand new online Mandarin learning material in Taipei, Taiwan recently.

The contents of 'Huayu 101' include accommodation, shopping, food ordering, traffic, emergency help and more. It is useful for foreign students and travelers who stay in Taiwan and can be applied to other Mandarin-speaking regions, a statement said.

The designer of 'Huayu 101', Professor Chang Yuhsin from the University of Taipei has more than 20 years Mandarin teaching experience. He and his team has collected key phrases that people should learn for basic survival to provide easier learning experience.

Taiwan's Chinese language education sector is looking outward and international marketing in response to global demand for Chinese language education which led to planning and implementing the Eight-year Chinese Language Education Promotion Plan (2013-2020).

Taiwan MOE also invited several organisations to create a brand new study-tour model, 'Mandarin On-the-Go' in Taiwan. Those interested are welcomed to check on the official website at https://ogme.edu.tw/Home/tw.
