KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama) -- With threats of serious financial crime looming with the emergence of new technologies, including cryptocurrencies, can bitcoin survive scrutiny from central banks globally?

Amid growing warnings of a market bubble, central banks, such as that of China, have restricted cryptocurrencies trading, which sent the virtual currency dropping as much as 40 per cent since reaching a record high of US$4,921 on Sept 1, cutting about US$20 billion in market value.

This is following a crackdown by Chinese regulators on cryptocurrencies trading, including bitcoin, which according to the authorities have become a tool for speculation among investors and also serves as a payment conduit for illegal fundraising and money laundering.

By Murni Nasri

Having a father who was an entrepreneur, Yuliza has a natural incline for business. Although her banker husband can provide for the big family comfortably, Yuliza insisted on venturing into business to help secure the family's future.

Dr Ruzaimi Sitting On A 'Gold Mine' Of Art

By Salbiah Said

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 1 (Bernama) -- It took architect Dr Ruzaimi Mat Rani 10 minutes to skilfully sketch the interior of a room with several pencil strokes, using an 'upside down' technique.

For viewing, the black and white image on the A-4 sized paper was turned upside down, with the name BERNAMA 'engraved' to complete the piece of artwork during an exclusive interview with Bernama Lifestyle and Youth (LnY) at Bernama Portal 'studio' recently.

But hold a second. You don't need to draw upside down. All you have to do is j ust go to, a fuss-free method of sketching accompanied with step-by-step illustrations.

Risiko 'Kesunyian' Warga Emas

Oleh Sakini Mohd Said

Jerebu: Gambaran Jelas Jauh Lebih Berfaedah Daripada Gambaran Kabur

Pheasants An Increasingly Endangered National Treasure

By Sakini Mohd Said

JOHOR BAHARU (Bernama) -- "Who says only people can be strong and muscular? "Birds can too!

According to the head of the Jemaluang Wildlife Conservation Centre, Nuraida Misfani, this is a unique character of pheasants from the Phasianidae family.
